What's InvolvedWe teach golf skills and "life skills" to kids, ages 7 – 18. Classes are held once a week, every week, for 8 weeks during the spring, 8 weeks each summer, 6 weeks during the fall, and 8 weeks each winter. They typically last 2-3 hours, with the exception of our Beginner's introductory classes for participants 5-6 years old. Douglass Youth Development has added new program to our curriculum. DYDP now has a LPGA-USGA sanctioned Girls' Golf program. It is a developmental junior golf program for kids age 7-17, to create a network for girls to learn to play golf, build friendships and sample competition in a positive and supportive learning environment. The only initiative of its kind, the program provides the opportunity to achieve success, progress in golf and establish a life-long interest in the game. Parents and Family, We Need YouAll parents are expected to volunteer during the course of the program. Click Here to Sign up on our Website to Volunteer. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available and you do not have to be a golfer to participate. Douglass Youth Development Program seeks to make the game of golf and its inherent life skills affordable and accessible to anyone who wants to participate. For this reason your annual registration fees plus parent involvment in fundraising is necessary for the continued success of the program. Parent involvement in fundraisers, grant writing, corporate and individual donations are needed. Your registration fee provides the following services:
The full cost to Douglass Youth Development Program for your child to participate is $500/participant. We request that if you are able to pay more than the annual registration fee, please make a tax deductible gift. More than 60% of our participants are on full scholarship to cover the cost of the registration fee. Your donation will allow us to serve more youth who may not otherwise be able to participate. Cancellation PolicyDouglass Youth Development Program doesn't provide refunds. The classes are heavily subsidized and cost $500 to provide to each participating young person. We charge a nominal enrollment/membership fee to pay for the administrative costs associated with membership. If your child has not yet attended any classes and will not be attending any classes for the duration of the calendar year, we will provide a tax deductible acknowledgement letter for your fee as a charity donation to the program. |
